Let’s talk about summer weddings, sunflowers and capturing a bride’s vision for a dream summer wedding in Raleigh, NC. We had met this lovely couple way before they were engaged and once the bride said yes, it was a matter of weeks before she reached out and told us “Jose Manuel and I are engaged, we had been waiting for this moment and ready to book your photography services and if you are available July 6.” This is a dream come true for any photographer when a couple just wants you, they want the best package for them and we have availability!
We invited them to our home studio where they got to see our sample albums and gorgeous metallic and acrylic wall art. After that, it was just a matter of getting all the pieces ready for their vision. It wasn’t as easy as it sounds, we had a vision we wanted to deliver based on their dreams and here’s what we did…
The Engagement Session in Satin Gold
It’s funny how in the same week we had two engagement sessions in this beautiful location, the North Carolina Art Museum. This Monday afternoon was breathtaking as we felt we had the entire place to ourselves and Merary was wearing a stunning gold satin dress which rocked the outcome of these photos. Couples really get to enjoy this engagement session as it is a moment to stop, breathe and make it all about them, and we just help capture their moment.
Getting ready at Haven Farm
Part of putting all the pieces together in wedding photography is guiding the couple to think outside the box. Our couples trust us and you will be amazed with how pretty the Homestead houses are to rent for a getting-ready location. Haven Farm is located in Knightdale, 18 minutes from the ceremony location. These houses are designed for the girls to get ready, do their H&M, a kitchen area and 3 bedrooms. The guys stayed at the other Homestead house which had a fun bar area with entertainment and a foosball table. Totally recommended!
The ceremony and reception
The location is one we have worked at before, being our home church, North Haven in Raleigh. Friends and family gathered to enjoy this moment with the bride, groom and their three adorable children. You could feel the love all around with the first dance, toasts, cake cutting and send off!
What about the Sunflower Field?
Funny thing with weather, it is unpredictable! Their big day was hot and rainy and it was not easy to get the shots we wanted outdoors. So what do photographers do? Rescheduled a one hour session at a later day. At least we do, go above and beyond to get the material desired, and due to the fact that their wedding theme was roses and sunflowers, guess what? Dorothea Dix Park has a beautiful sunflower field where they welcome professional photographers and our cute couple was the sensation of the afternoon!
