A Downtown Raleigh Wedding at

The Willard!

Get ready for this beautiful love story!

Paola and David, like many of our couples, found us on social media through recommendations from our followers and we immediately clicked!

Paola reached out by phone with a 571 area code which is from Virginia. I was able to recognize it right away since I grew up there. Therefore,  for a second thought they were calling us for another wedding in VA.

After a few message exchanges through WhatsApp, we all hopped on a Zoom call and we all felt like our stories and personalities clicked.

Everyone felt comfortable knowing we could communicate in both Spanish and English efficiently which was a priority for the couple.

That being one of our biggest advantages as bilingual photographers in the Raleigh/Durham area.

Brian and I planned our wedding two years prior. Also, since we do a lot of wedding photography, we became an instrumental resource for the couple when putting together a thoughtful timeline.

We guided them throughout their planning process to not miss key details. This hellped them visualize it in a way that was efficient and so romantic which you will shortly see.

But first, engagement photos!

We gave the couple a few recommendations in the Raleigh area to do their engagement shots and the Historic Oak View Park was just stunning during golden hour.

The ceremony and reception in downtown Raleigh

From working over a decade in hospitality, it is easy for us to learn our way around and work with the amazing staff at these venues. The couple chose this location as it is near where they would live and a lot of David’s family could join in person, while Paola’s family would join via Zoom.

She did have a few family members and friends support her in person on this special day and we were able to capture beautiful moments and details from their wedding ceremony and reception in downtown Raleigh.

As we’ve mentioned on other blogs, our NVP couples get more than stunning photography, we love giving them a gift which is special to us.

We work with Gaby Lugo Calligraphy who makes just everything beautiful for weddings through her calligraphy.  She wrote their names and anniversary date so the couple can also have a heartfelt memory of their wedding day as part of their photo collection or portfolio.

It was an honor for both Nova Vista Photography and Gaby Lugo Calligraphy when we saw the couple actually use our gift as part of their bridal centerpiece table decor.

Take a look below at some of our favorite photos, the way they looked at each other, so much love in the air!
